The Facts
Antifouling contains a carefully controlled proportion of biocide, requiring a very delicate balance of sufficient gradual release to dissuade growth for a whole season, but, with careful consideration of environmental issues and recent legislation. The choice of antifouling depends on many factors and correct and careful choice is necessary to avoid poor performance, high fuel consumption and loss of speed.

A Powercraft and long keeled yachts
LWL (waterline length) x (B + D) (beam + draft) = area in sq metres
B Medium draft sailing yachts & twin keels 0.75 x LWL x (B + D) = area in sq metres
C Fine keel lighter disp. sailing yachts 0.5 x LWL x (B + D) = area in sq metres
