A galvanic isolator, or zinc saver, fitted to your boat will maintain a good earth link with the shore whilst preventing any stray currents travelling up the earth line to cause damage to the boat. Whilst maintaining the continuity with the earth for safety of your life it will remove the continuity with the shore power for the safety of your boat. Although a simple device, it is built to stringent specification and tested to stringent CE standards. The low cost, highly effective Pro Save A 16A complies with all the requirements and is by far the most commonly used device in Europe.
