Description
The Great Hawk Wind Indicator Riggers Edition is a specialized version of the standard Great Hawk wind indicator, with a primary difference in its mounting mechanism. It is designed for larger cruising and racing yachts up to 20 meters (approximately 65 feet) in length. The vane arm is constructed from super-tough nylon for enhanced durability. The reference arms are made from glass-filled nylon, providing both rigidity and UV protection.
The support rod is crafted from a strong 5mm aluminium rod, capable of withstanding normal wear and tear and can be bent back into shape if accidentally knocked. This wind indicator features a precision-balanced vane arm and a V jewel bearing, ensuring a quick and accurate response to wind shifts and gusts with minimal inertia. It can be preset to common upwind/downwind angles of 55, 60, or 65 degrees, as well as any other preferred angle, offering flexibility for various sailing conditions.
