Description
High Protect II is a 2-part component, formerly known as Gel Protect, is a system for the protection against and treatment of osmosis. It is a high build two component solvent free epoxy. High Protect is easy to apply, with a long over coating window and good tolerance to environmental conditions. Drying to a very high film thickness, it can be used as a substitute for light primer when solvent emissions are a consideration. Suitable for use above and below the waterline
Preparation and Applications Ensure hull is suitably prepared and all surfaces are clean, oil free and dry
Stir all products well before use
If over coating times are exceeded, abrade the surface and wash off with fresh water
To ensure maximum pot life, empty mixed contents promptly in to the paint tray
Only mix the amount of material that can be applied within the pot life time
For osmosis protection Fill and fair as necessary with Epoxy Filler
Then apply 2 coats of High Protect For osmosis treatment Apply a primer coat of High Protect
Fill and fair as necessary with Epoxy Filler
Apply further coats of High Protect as necessary to recommended film thickness of 3 to 4 coats
Overcoat with Underwater Primer, followed by 2 coats of Antifouling Mixing
Mix ratio is 3 parts base to 2 parts curing agent by volume. Add curing agent to base and stir well. For best results allow mixed paint to rest for several minutes before use to allow air bubbles to escape. Do not thin.
Application
Roller, laying off with brush if necessary Tool cleaner use Thinners No.5 Coverage of 5m squared per 1L at 200 microns Minimum application temperature of 5 degrees C or 40 degrees F Pot life of 1 hour
