Description
Interprotect is a quick drying, easy to apply two-pack epoxy primer for high performance protection on all rigid substrates. It's two-component application gives excellent anti-corrosive and abrasion resistance properties and it can be used equally above or below the waterline. Not suitable for use below 5DegC. Application Details: Interprotect
LEAD:; Rub down with an emery cloth or power wire brush. Degrease with Yacht Line Super Cleaner. Pre-prime with Etch Primer.
STEEL: Grit blast to Sa 2.5 to 3. An angle grinder can be used in small areas.
ALUMINIUM:
Above Waterline:
Clean and degrease, pre-prime with Etch Primer or alternatively mechanically abrade with aluminium compatible sandpaper or low pressure grit blast using aluminium oxide.
Below Waterline: Degrease AND abrade or grit blast as above.
ZINC/GALVANISED STEEL:;;; Degrease. Pre-prime with Etch Primer
If any filling required use the appropriate product from the Interfill range, after the first coat of Interprotect has been applied/li Ensure all dust is removed with a dust wipe before painting Stir individual components thoroughly, add curing agent to the base, stir and leave for 10 minutes for bubbles to disperse/li Apply the following number of coats:- Steel/ Aluminium/ Alloy above 4, below 5, Lead 5, Wood 3 Stir well before use Mix ratio is 3:1 (base : curing agent) by volume (as supplied) For Max performance, temperature should be above 10DegC If Max overcoating time is exceeded, abrade thoroughly using 180-220 grade paper Ideally should be applied to bare substrate, but do not apply over conventional (one-pack) coatings/li .
