Do you need 12 volt or 24 volt for your boat?
Needless to say, 12 volt is cheaper as it requires cheaper batteries, thinner wiring and there is more choice of goodies. The downside is it's not very good at driving stuff that needs a lot of current, such as windlass's and bow thrusters. The average British boat will be fine with 12v, if you want to go with gear that requires a lot of power, then install 24v.
