Description
Polyurethane-coated nylon is about half the weight of, and significantly stronger than, bags made of PVC or PVC-coated nylon. Some Optimist buoyancy bags feature a twist-lock tube valve, which is attached to a piece of tubing. This valve allows for easy and quick inflation and deflation of the bag. While 48-litre buoyancy bags are slightly heavier than 43-litre bags, they result in much less water entering the boat after a capsize.
