Description
Titanic authentic replica whistle as used by Titanic's first mate and used dramatically in James Cameron's 1997 file starring Kate Winsley, to call her rescuers. British-made by Acme, who supplied the White Star Line in 1912, it uses the original tooling.
On the evening of 14th April 1912, the supposedly unsinkable RMS Titanic hit an iceberg and sank on her maiden voyage, with the loss of over 1200 lives. It remains one of the world's most infamous shipping disasters, partly due to so many deaths which could have been avoided. So confident were White Star Line in her unsinkable design that she did not have sufficient lifeboat capacity for all those onboard. Tragically, therefore, many of those who managed to escape the sinking ship were lost to the freezing North Atlantic.
