Description
Bitumen Blacking Rylard Universal Hull Coating
An economic, high performance thixotropic bitumen paint for the anti-corrosive protection of the underwater hulls of canal boats with a satin finish. This type of product is often called blacking and is widely used for canal boat maintenance. It has easier application properties and longer life compared to normal bitumen paints and gives excellent protection in both fresh and salt water. It has good abrasion resistance, coupled with good flexibility to resist cracking and damage. This is a bitumen-based coating, do not apply a tar-based coating (such as Coflex) over it at any time.
A Traditional single pack 'Blacking'. Application by spray, brush or roller that are specially formulated for canal boats providing economic coatings for routine maintenance.
Launch Time for all products is 48 hours minimum after final coat (at 20 Deg C)
Rytex, Premium Protection and Universal Hull Coating are all bitumen based, and should only be top coated with other bitumen coatings (with themselves is recommended). Products containing Coal Tar have been phased out of the European market due to changes in Health & Safety regulations. Coflex VT (vinyl tar) and Epicol CT (tar epoxy) are therefore no longer available.
