Description
The Wichard Speedlink snap shackle was developed as an optimised design. Its design maked it very light and gives it one of the best strength to weight ratios for this type of snap.
The load-bearing surface of the swivel eye has a large surface area and so avoids excessive rope wear, Its overall design prevents neighbouring lines from jamming. It is easily opened under load, by using a release fid. The shape of the latch reduces inertia and avoids unintentional opening, especially under impact, while the distribution of stresses limits the effort needed to open it under load.
Speedlink is forged in HR stainless steel and can bear exceptional working and breaking loads for a minimum weight.

Working Load (WL): the functional load for nautical applications.
Working Load Limit (WLL): for industrial applications only. This is a 5:1 safety factor of the break load. WLL = Breakload divided by 5.
