The Nauticalia Cribbage set has a hinged lid and base which folds out to create the scoring board, which is made beautifully from contrasting strips of wood. Cribbage, more commonly known as crib, is a traditional card game for two players. it can be played as a team game with three or four players, that involves playing and grouping cards in combinations which gain points. Crib has a few distinctive features: the board that's used keep the score, the crib, more commonly known as the box which is an extra hand for the dealer. There are two seperate scoring stages, the actual card play where points are scored according to a few but fairly complicated rules, including scores for 15's, pairs, last card up, making the last played card hit 31 - there are many variations of play. and a unique scoring system including points for groups of cards that total fifteen. It's a compulsive game and when played for small stakes, it becomes almost addictive.
